Let’s talk about a few things to consider before you purchase a new vehicle. One of the things you should consider is the cost of maintaining the vehicle.
But first a disclaimer—what we are about to say is not an endorsement for any particular type or make of vehicle. This is also not a knock on any particular vehicles. We simply want to give you some facts to consider! We deal with all types of cars, whether they’re made in America or overseas.
Research The Cost Before You Buy
Before you decide to purchase a vehicle, do some research. Look up what it costs to get the oil changed on that particular car or truck. It’s just a fact that it’s far more expensive to get an oil change on a Mercedes than on a Honda Accord. Different parts and services have different costs for different vehicles.
You Need To Be Able To Afford Maintenance
If you’ve been following us for a while you know that we’re big on keeping up with your maintenance! It’s so easy to get into a vehicle that is right at the top of your price point for a monthly payment or the total price, and not think about the fact that you’re going to need even more money for maintenance. Many people stretch themselves to buy the car, only to find that they don’t really have the money for upkeep!
We recommend that you do your research, or talk to your dealer or talk to us about how much it costs to maintain the different cars you’re considering. Again, we’re not trying to encourage you to buy cheaper cars, and we’re not knocking expensive cars. We just want you to know what you’re getting into so that you can be prepared. Think of it as being a lot like buying a house. You don’t want to spend all your money on the house and not be able to furnish it! You don’t want to buy a new car only to find out that you can’t afford to keep gas in it or manage the recommended maintenance items.
Why Vehicle Maintenance is Important
We want you to do your research because the most important thing to us is that you’re able to maintain your vehicle, whatever kind of vehicle it is. Keeping up with money will actually save you money in the long run—if you neglect the maintenance you will be headed for more expensive repairs down the road! Keeping up with maintenance also makes sure that your car will be safe to drive.
Please feel free to ask us any questions about any vehicles you’re thinking about purchasing. We’re here to help!
