We just wanted to touch base with you as we head into cold weather, and give you some important tips and information about things you need to look for on your automobile so that you don’t catch yourself in a bad spot in the morning on your way to work, or coming home.
1. Check Your Battery.
First of all, it’s always a good idea to have your shop check out your battery on a regular basis! Especially in Texas with our swings of heat and cold, batteries are here today and gone tomorrow. You don’t want to get stuck with a car that won’t start, so check your batteries as often as possible!
2. Check Your Tire Pressure.
Also, keep an eye on your TPMS lights. Those are aggravating I know, but they’re there for a reason. Don’t ignore them! Don’t assume that your tire pressure is just a little bit low. If you do that you’re likely to come out in the morning to find that you have a flat tire, and then you’ll be late for work and stressed out.
3. Check Your Antifreeze.
Antifreeze is also critical. It’s important that you have the right 50-50 mix and not have too much water mixed in, because as the temperatures drop the chances of freezing are always there.
4. Check Your Wiper blades.
This is something people always forget about until it’s pouring rain and you can’t see well. Always get your wiper blades checked.
5. Lighting.
Finally, it’s important to check all of your lighting. Just because your headlights work doesn’t mean that your backup lights are working and that your tail lights are working. It’s important to have someone check all the lights on your vehicle!
These are the most important things to check out as we move into the winter season. And we can check all of these for you, and more! We look forward to seeing you here at Automotive Solutions!
